We are two years into this pandemic and now we are all feeling the financial crush. The rising cost of living affects all of us in different ways, whether it be real estate, fuel, food or especially how we decide to spend our disposable income most families have had to reassess their household budgets.
The families that make up the membership of your sports club/organization are in this review process every day. They are deciding what activities they can afford to keep their children participating in and at what level they can participate. While some might walk away altogether, others will look at a potential sports club with a shrewd eye seeking the best “bang for their buck”.
The question volunteers, boards and leadership must be asking is, “are we good value”. This does not mean you must lower your prices. Your organization should evolve to be as efficient as possible. Utilizing smart budget planning practices; minimizing wasteful spending; creating and implementing policies to protect against fraud, theft and incompetence. This can be a tall order for a group of volunteers who may not have the requisite skill sets. We can help, get your club Smart Sport Certified and give your members the peace of mind that their hard-earned dollars will be invested wisely in their child’s sporting activities.
